I want to lighten up the color and make it less orange and add a face and some strands of hair. But the body is almost finished. I made the arms and legs by twisting armature wire, wrapping them in wire mesh and then heat shrinking black tubing over that. Then I J-B Kwiked (can I use that as a verb?) them to the body. Tiedowns are attached to the legs with latex and the hands are latex as well.
I borrowed heavily from the Aardman design for their sheep legs.

Woohoo, I found a blog!
I was actually looking for info for wire armatures.
It’s really cool to see Dr. Nurbs as a puppet in progress. I lost that email you sent about how you made him, so the pictures really help job my memory.
By the way, I found a new armature design that doesn’t require materials that need to dry or cure. So far, I’ve only been able to adapt it for use with silicone, cold foam, liquid latex, and clay, but I’ll try to come up with something that can be baked in a mold. That might be a ways off, though. Baby steps.
